Fun for toddlers and their families too! Classes include stories, games, puppetry, and engaging hands-on activities perfect for budding scientists.

Begin your child's journey of discovery. Classes foster
curiosity through experimentation, use of senses, and real opportunities for direct investigation.

The Kitchen Lab (Museum)

Learn how to experiment with what you find in your refrigerator and cupboards. Prepare solutions, study reactions, and have fun with wild and wacky experiments!

Children's Weekend Workshops

Silly Shorebirds (Sea Center)
Ages 4-6
Have you seen birds with long bills probe the sand? Who are the birds that crash dive into the ocean? What do silly shorebirds do? Flock together with friends as you walk, eat, and fly like a shorebird.

Take a walk on the spiny side of life. More than just a favorite meal for sea otters, sea urchins are fascinating organisms. Come discover these bizarre animals and the interesting way they live their lives.

The Fun of Birding (Museum)
Ages 10-14
Do you like spending time outside? Hone your skills as a naturalist by learning to bird with local expert Rebecca Coulter. Pry into the lives of local birds, by identifying them, their calls, and their cryptic behaviors.

Mesozoic Monsters (Museum)
Ages 6-8
The Mesozoic was the Age of the Dinosaurs, but they weren’t the only animals on Earth during this time. Learn about dinosaurs and the other creatures that flew, swam or walked alongside them millions of years ago.
