Open through January 7, 2007

Two adventuresome artists, George Catlin and Karl Bodmer, working at approximately the same time and place, created a visual representation of the Plains Indian tribes at a time when these cultures were rapidly changing. Their portraits and landscapes are considered important historical documents showing Native peoples caught in the westward expansion in the 1830s. Prints made from original drawings are displayed along with Plains Indian artifacts from the Anthropology collection.
